A Post in Which I Use a Mean Word

WARNING: If finding out the actual meaning of the word ‘slut’ and why the term ‘slut-shaming’ needs to be done away with offends you than this is not the post for you.

Someone told me today that the word ‘slut’ is around the make girls feel bad about showing off their body.

Obviously this person has never seen a dictionary.

The definition of slut: A woman who has many sexual partners. Also see- whore, harlet, tramp.

Huh. Nothing about her body or the way she dresses.

An awful thing has happened. People now use the term “slut-shaming” when they feel like one person is trying to tell another person how to dress.

Misusing words is dangerous.

By saying people shouldn’t ‘slut-shame’ you are inadvertently saying that being a slut is okay.

This is what your daughters, sisters, and friends are seeing. Being a slut is ok because people who slut-shame are evil, rigid, Christians who are judgmental, celibate, and self-righteous.

And no one wants to be like that.

STOP USING THIS TERM!

You don’t want your little girls to grow up to be sluts! Unexpected pregnancies resulting in abortions would happen. STD’s. Broken hearts. Emotional damage. Sometimes bodily damage.

Saying we shouldn’t ‘slut-shame’ is like saying prostitution is admirable and stripping is morally ok.

What we should be doing is teaching girls that they shouldn’t body-shame which is making other people feel bad about their bodies.

We should be discouraging them from a slutty lifestyle.

Christians especially should not be calling other people out on “slut-shaming”!  When we see others crying out about people “slut-shaming” we need to tell them that nothing about being a slut is commendable and that they should not be encouraging that!

Stand up for your beliefs! You are being silenced because you are afraid of hurting feelings.

Jesus was not silenced. He preached about sexual misconduct to hundreds of people! He told them what was wrong to do. You can do that! You are capable.

The only group that is allowed to be offended and oppressed nowadays is Christians. Anyone else and it’s a hate crime. But not Christians. Because we are SILENT. Speak up!

The church is being persecuted by our culture and we are letting it happen. Other people will not do the work for you. Christians needs to have a voice again.

Our Nation Needs Christians

Ok, I cannot be the only person annoyed that WordPress changed the menu bar to a rainbow. Not everyone supports the Supreme Court’s decision.

I am one of those people.

This opens the door to polygamy and, apparently, pedophilia.

Lovely stuff.

And the LGBTQGSLPANGMCHYSDFXYZ community is soooo hateful towards anyone who does not support their personal decisions, and especially towards Christians.

By the way, did you know that only 2.3% of our nation is gay/lesbians/trans/bi or whatever?

The media would have you believe that it’s actually 30%.

That is not true. You are being lied to.

I’m sick of this.

I love all you people. I hate the sin that is fully embraced by our nation. God will straighten us out. Christians, make sure you are solid in the Word. Non-believers, it may be time to give the Bible a chance.

Praying for our nation today. Have a great Sunday.

Adapting God (Stop Trying)

It’s not really the best idea to take an all-powerful, all-knowing God and try to squeeze him into your little worldview box.

He doesn’t fit.

I see it all the time, people deciding that God actually thinks one thing because it fits what they want to believe, what they’re comfortable with.

Listen, God doesn’t actually care what we think is right and wrong, unless it follows the Bible. There’s a couple glaring examples of people deciding God is on their side so that they don’t have to feel convicted. The most popular ones are homosexuality and abortion, naturally, with feminism and divorce following close behind.

God is very clear on His view of homosexuality. I’ve done a post about this even and you can read it here. Old Testament, New Testament, God is clear on what He thinks about homosexuality.

So you know someone who’s gay or lesbian, trans, bi, queer, gender-fluid, non-conforming, all these ridiculous titles. Everyone does. Does that mean God understands the situation and made it an exception? No. You can’t make God adapt to fit your situation. He doesn’t do that.

Hebrews 13:8 (NASB) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So what he said was right and wrong 6,000 years ago, is still right and wrong today. Just because the world is changing does not mean God is. The world is becoming more and more sinful. It’s up to us to see that sin is not ok, not try to fool ourselves and everyone else into thinking God changes with the world.

Same deal with abortion. It’s murder. We all know how God feels about murder. But for some reason, abortion is different than murder because everyone knows it’s just a group of cells right? Wrong.

Well, scientifically, we’re just groups of cells controlled by an organ in our heads. Life begins at conception. It is not up to us to end it. God doesn’t make exceptions.

Sure, you have free will. You can make exceptions to morality if you want to, no one’s stopping you really. Except certain laws, of course. But don’t try to pass it off as God saying it’s ok because times have changed. No where in the Bible does it say that.

I hope I’ve made my point clear. If you would like more verses just ask. If you have Biblical proof that God changes with the times and circumstances of your personal life, feel free to share 🙂

Clarification

Just to be 100% clear, since people keep getting confused about this:

I am not blogging to non-believers.

I am blogging to Christians.

You have to talk to the two groups differently on religious manners.

I am blogging about sin because the church has forgotten what God says about it.

WE ARE CALLED TO WARN EACH OTHER AGAINST SIN.

Read the above line again. I have the verses, if you don’t believe me.

I am not calling out any single people group, I am sharing what God says about certain things.

I don’t want to hear about your ‘feelings’ on the issues if you’re trying to prove me wrong. Show me I’m wrong in God’s Word.

I do not blog about all sins because for the most part, Christians still believe murder, theft, adultery, and other sins to be wrong. They’ve forgotten when it comes to things like homosexuality, divorce, and abortion. So that’s what I blog about.

If you don’t like my style, I’m sure there’s a blogger out there who is saying exactly what you want them to.

Believe it or not, my way is effective, maybe just not to you. Not everyone is like you. Try seeing a different perspective for once.

I am not Catholic, so if you are Catholic and try to argue with me on the validity of the Bible, please don’t, because we will just disagree.

I hope my stance is clear and that you can be tolerant of it.

Get up and Walk

There is more than one way to lead someone to Jesus. My way is not the only one, it is the way I am best at. Your way is not the only way, it is the way you are best at.

Yes, Jesus is the only way to Heaven, but there’s lots of paths to get to Jesus.

Matthew 9:2-8 and Mark 2:1-12 talk about the paralytic that was healed because his friends cared for him so much they lowered a couch through a tiled roof (not straw like most pictures depict). They must’ve been really determined friends and their faith led to the man being forgiven and healed.

The first thing to notice is that Jesus’ first concern was the man’s sins. He forgave them first. God is concerned with the state of our heart above all else. He wants us to be in Heaven with Him one day, but that won’t happen if our heart is corrupted by unrepentented sin. So Jesus forgave the man’s sin before healing Him to put the emphasis on the importance of how sin affects us.

Jesus did NOT say “I love you. It’s all ok. You are beautiful in God’s sight. Go be happy and joyous.” He said “You’re sins are forgiven. Now get up and walk.” And do you think that man repented from his sins? I’m willing to put money on it. If I was paralyzed (and many people believe it was because of his sins that he was paralyzed) and God incarnate walked by and said “You are forgiven, Go walk home.” you can be sure I wouldn’t ever go back to the sins that had paralyzed me. Repentance is one of the most important parts of a true faith. Without it, you are not following God. It’s like people have stopped realizing that it is something that is required if you actually want to follow Christ. Your sin is NOT ok. My sin is NOT ok. We must repent.

Then Jesus heard and felt people questioning His authority, so Jesus healed the paralyzed man and told him to walk away. But the sin had to be dealt with first.

The scribes and the Pharisees (you know, all the hypocrites and people who would later crucify God in the flesh.) talked amongst themselves saying “Who is this? Only God has the power to heal and forgive sins.” We look back at them and say they were dumb to not see who Jesus was, which they were, but it’s because they were so stuck in what they believed and what they were taught and what they FELT was right, that they didn’t let the Bible change their mind. Jesus was constantly quoting the Old Testament, He even pointed out which prophecies He fulfilled. The Pharisees refused to be open to the answers in the Bible that they maybe hadn’t found yet.

Now, I’m not saying I have the power of Jesus (No way) but I do have the power to voice my thoughts and beliefs and speak up for what God has shown me is right and wrong. God doesn’t talk directly to people anymore, He talks through them. I pray that He talks through me and my blog and believe He is doing just that. He gives me the verses to use, the passages to focus on and I am so thankful. I have learned so much from blogging for Him.

We’ve made this sin ‘ok’… so we should make this sin ‘ok’

I read an article today ( http://www.faithstreet.com/onfaith/2014/03/31/what-c-s-lewis-marriage-can-tell-us-about-the-gay-marriage-controversy/31512 ) that is legitimately trying to convince people that we should welcome and want homosexuality in the church because we’ve made sins like divorce and remarriage ok.

How does this logic?!

Seriously, it’s the same as saying, well we’ve made divorce acceptable. Let’s tell the people that murdering each other is ok.

One sin being accepted in a society does NOT mean that another should. It means we need to work on eradicating the first sin. Divorce and remarriage are only ok under the strict Biblical guidelines. The Bible very clearly states that homosexuality is a sin, no if’s, and’s or but’s.

Now don’t misunderstand me, homosexuals should be welcome into the church, but in no way should we paint homosexuality in the light that it is ok. It is NOT. Stop being so worried about offending people and worry about saving people.

People will not turn to God if they think their sin is acceptable to Him.

Read the above sentence until it sinks into your brain. People will NOT TURN to God if you tell them that it is ok to sin! They will find no need for a savior.

So think about how you handle things like this. Are you leading people to God or telling them they don’t need Him?

God Loves Gays

…..Just not their behavior.

Same with murders, pedophiles, thieves and adulterers. He loves everyone.

He hates the sin.

That is the point I would like to make immediately. I do NOT hate homosexuals. I hate the sin.

I know I am not perfect, please do not accuse me of being a hypocrite. I sin too.

But there’s a widespread rumor that “Jesus never said anything about homosexuality” so it’s “not a sin” and I would like to debunk this insane myth.

First of all, the Old Testament lists homosexual behavior as one of the main reasons why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Just because it was the Old Testament doesn’t mean the sin isn’t still real.

Also in the Old Testament, God defines homosexuality as sexually immoral behavior, which comes up multiple times in the New Testament.

Now as far as New Testament goes;

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

That’s 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

In Matthew 15, Jesus talks about clean and unclean behavior. Verse 19 and the beginning of verse 20 say, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man “unclean’. ”

Romans 1:27 says, “In the same way the men also abandoned their natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”

Notice how it says “natural relations with women” which brings me to my next point.

Homosexuals were not born that way.

I know, it’s a nice excuse, but it doesn’t work like that. True, we are all born with a certain sin nature that we are prone to, but you can choose whether or not to act on it. Homosexuality is a learned sin like any other.

In the same way you can argue that murderers, pedophiles, and rapists were ‘born that way’ so they can’t help but do those things, right?

Wrong. You have free will. Use it to follow something good.

Another argument that homosexuals cry out is that their behavior is not hurting anyone else.

This is also wrong, as homosexual behavior destroys the sanctity of marriage. It is constantly working against traditional and Christian family values, making sinful behavior an acceptable alternative.

Then think of the children. Recent studies show that a child thrives best in a household with both a mother and father. Not two moms. Not two dads. They need both male and female role models to fill those important places in their lives.

Here’s a good study on it: http://www.citizenlink.com/2010/06/17/30-years-of-research-that-tells-us-a-child-deserves-a-mother-and-a-father/

I would like to reiterate that God loves homosexuals. He just hates the homosexuality. You can repent from any sin, you are not stuck in a lifestyle for the rest of your life.

I realize a lot of people will disagree with me, and I would just please ask for you to be polite in the comments. I’m not being judgmental or hateful, and I sincerely hope I did not come across that way in my writing.

I love you, dear readers!
