Cover Boy

This post won’t be very long since I’m doing this on my phone. However I have one question.

Where did it all fall apart?

The newest Cover”girl” is, in fact, a boy. He has a mans jaw, masculine build, and oh yeah, a penis. All of these thing make him male. Biologically he is male.

But because one day he got a delusion that he should be a girl, everyone decided he should be a girl. So now he’s a girl.

Except that he’s not. All he did was put makeup on.

The problem nowadays is the fact that people think sex (as in anatomically) and gender are different, when they are actually biologically synonymous.

It’s fine that people say you can pick your sexual orientation. It’s true that you can choose what you’re attracted to. That doesn’t make it right or normal, but it is true. You can be attracted to potatoes for all I care.

What you cannot choose is WHAT YOU ARE. You can’t wake up one morning and decide you’re male even though you have a vagina in the same way I cannot wake up and decide I am a baby penguin.

It is impossible, illogical, and sinful.

Christians, you are not called to condone this! Saying this is ok is saying God makes mistakes when He creates us. How dare you accuse our God of that.

I was born a female. That is what God intended me to be and no mental illness can change that.

Just because a man takes estrogen and puts makeup on, that doesn’t make him a woman. Neither does a sex change because he cannot carry, give birth, or feed a baby.

Just because a woman takes testosterone and dresses differently does not make her a man.

Why is this a difficult concept?

We are a disgustingly fallen world.

A Post in Which I Use a Mean Word

WARNING: If finding out the actual meaning of the word ‘slut’ and why the term ‘slut-shaming’ needs to be done away with offends you than this is not the post for you.

Someone told me today that the word ‘slut’ is around the make girls feel bad about showing off their body.

Obviously this person has never seen a dictionary.

The definition of slut: A woman who has many sexual partners. Also see- whore, harlet, tramp.

Huh. Nothing about her body or the way she dresses.

An awful thing has happened. People now use the term “slut-shaming” when they feel like one person is trying to tell another person how to dress.

Misusing words is dangerous.

By saying people shouldn’t ‘slut-shame’ you are inadvertently saying that being a slut is okay.

This is what your daughters, sisters, and friends are seeing. Being a slut is ok because people who slut-shame are evil, rigid, Christians who are judgmental, celibate, and self-righteous.

And no one wants to be like that.

STOP USING THIS TERM!

You don’t want your little girls to grow up to be sluts! Unexpected pregnancies resulting in abortions would happen. STD’s. Broken hearts. Emotional damage. Sometimes bodily damage.

Saying we shouldn’t ‘slut-shame’ is like saying prostitution is admirable and stripping is morally ok.

What we should be doing is teaching girls that they shouldn’t body-shame which is making other people feel bad about their bodies.

We should be discouraging them from a slutty lifestyle.

Christians especially should not be calling other people out on “slut-shaming”!  When we see others crying out about people “slut-shaming” we need to tell them that nothing about being a slut is commendable and that they should not be encouraging that!

Stand up for your beliefs! You are being silenced because you are afraid of hurting feelings.

Jesus was not silenced. He preached about sexual misconduct to hundreds of people! He told them what was wrong to do. You can do that! You are capable.

The only group that is allowed to be offended and oppressed nowadays is Christians. Anyone else and it’s a hate crime. But not Christians. Because we are SILENT. Speak up!

The church is being persecuted by our culture and we are letting it happen. Other people will not do the work for you. Christians needs to have a voice again.

Bohemian Goddess and I do a Cafe Crawl

Recently the glorious Bohemian Goddess and I stormed through Anchorage, Alaska. While there we decided to do a café crawl.

We hit four cafes and thought we would give y’all a review.

Our first stop was Kaladi Brothers off 7th Avenue. We ordered the 4 cheese quiche and a hazelnut mocha to share.

Ratings:

Quiche: Bohemian Goddess-7        Wild Thing – 7

Mocha: BG- 9     WT- 9

Customer Service: BG-4.5       WT-5

Atmosphere: BG-7.5         WT- 8

We really liked it. There was awesome indie music, weird artwork, lots of walls separating sections, which we liked. Very modern, very relaxed.

Second stop was Steam Dot. We ordered an Americano.

Ratings:

Americano: BG- 8.5       WT- 8.5

Customer Service:  BG- 6.5     WT-8

Atmosphere:  BG – 8.5     WT-7

The music was good there too, maybe a little loud, but very good. There was a full bar there, which would’ve been cool if we were 21. Also, there was a Chris Evans look-alike. That was pleasant.

Next was Midnight Sun Café. I ordered the Wedding Cake Latte which was Coconut, vanilla, and Irish Cream. Bohemian Goddess order a Strawberry Guava Watermelon Red Bull Italian soda.

Ratings:

Latte:  WT- 6.5

Italian Soda:  BG- 6.5

Customer Service:  BG- 9     WT-9

Atmosphere: BG- 7.5    WT-7.5

The place was cute, kinda hippie, relaxing. Plus they had Taco comics. Adorable. It was colorful without being overwhelming and, again, good music.

Monday morning before we left town we stopped in Busy Beans. They serve Kaladi Brothers coffee. So we knew the coffee would be good. We both ordered a quad-shot mocha. I got a ham, cheddar, spinach, and pesto Panini. BG got a turkey, pepper jack, tomato, mayo, and grey poupon Panini.

Ratings:

Coffee: BG- 9       WT-9

Food:  BG-10!     WT-10!    (Soooooo yummy!)

Atmosphere: BG- 8   WT-8.5

Customer Service: BG-8      WT-8

It was a very open place. Had a kids section and everything. Cute artwork everywhere. The sandwiches took a while but were well worth the wait! Good music, just like everywhere else. Nothing too well-known, which we really enjoyed.

All in all, everything was way better than Starbucks and I don’t know why anyone would choose Starbucks over Kaladi Brothers. Seriously people. Drink local.

Anniversary Musings

You know that moment when you lock eyes with someone for the first time and you just… know?

There’s this shiver crawling in slow motion up your spine. Your mouth twitches into a smile. You find so many hidden things in those eyes.

And you want to know more about them.

It’s been two years since Golden Boy and I went on our first date. Of course, we didn’t know it was a date until he dropped me off. That’s when we decided it had been a date. He met my dad for pity’s sake.

That first date was the most nerve-wracking experience. The entire time we were desperate for non-awkward conversation. I kept staring at his hands, wondering if they were brave enough to hold mine on the first date. I swear we hardly looked at each other.

Two years later we can’t stop looking at each other.

I want to tell all you girls out there (and boys) that there is no problem WAITING. When Golden Boy and I started dating, we had already been friends for a year and we just had this feeling that things were going to work out. I don’t know about him, but I was positive that I could spend the rest of my life flirting with this man.

There’s nothing wrong with waiting until you are sure.

We have something so special, him and I. We are each other’s first and only relationship. First date. First kiss. First everything. And that is not something that is common these days. I’m so glad that he is getting all of me and that I am getting all of him. No one took any of me as theirs and kept it. I was able to tell him that I waited for him. And he waited for me.

There is nothing glorious about being a heartbreaker. There is nothing special about burning through boyfriends or girlfriends. Slow down. Wait to fall in love.

I was in love with my man long before we went on our first date. The great part is that love gets so much deeper with time. Every day I love him more.

I hope that everyone reading this gets that chance. It is the best feeling.

Have a fantastic day everyone.

The Return of the Hoopla-Chiatto

It’s summer yet again which means work. As some people may recall, I work in a seasonal hotel’s gift shop and espresso bar. All the awesome people should remember the creation of the Hoopla-Chiatto.

In case you’re wondering what a Hoopla-Chiatto is, it is a triple-shot latte with almond, hazelnut, vanilla, caramel, and Irish cream syrup in it. It’s delicious and the sugar alone will keep you going for hours.

Now, sadly, the Hoopla-Chiatto will not actually be making a triumphant re-entry into the world of tourism.  We have switched to Starbucks ( 😡 ) and I no longer have either almond or Irish Cream syrup to use.

I know, this news is devastating. But do not fret! There is hope to come for I am determined to create something almost as splendid. It might even be a frappucino. There are endless possibilities.

Chin up, dear readers. One day the Hoopla-Chiatto will enter back into society as a socially acceptable drink . However, the world just isn’t ready for it yet.

In the mean time I’ll making macchiato’s (which are no different than cappuccinos) and drinking sludge ( espresso + coffee)

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Modest is Hottest

Oh, but what is modesty, hm? Many people have different opinions on modesty. And it seem like some don’t have an opinion about it at all…

Please, while you’re reading this, keep in mind that this is MY opinion, not what your opinion must be. Though, it wouldn’t hurt to agree with me 😉 Haha kidding, kidding…. except only kind of.

Anyway, girls, let’s talk modesty. According to the dictionary modesty is sexual reserve: reserve in appearance, manner, and speech, especially in relation to sexual matters. This doesn’t mean you can’t wear tank tops and shorts, that’s not what I believe at all. And, just to share, I sometimes even let my bra straps show *gasp*. You should dress comfortably, and in a way that makes you feel good about yourself. You’re allowed to look cute and feel beautiful.

But, when you start dressing for other people, that’s when lines get blurred. For instance, when you pick out a low-cut tank top, because it’ll get the boys excited… yeah, not modest, not Christian, not classy.

Plus, as a Christian girl, I don’t want to tempt my boyfriend into sexual thoughts. I’m not saying I’m perfect. Of course I want him to like how I look. Confession: I’ve worn shorts because I knew he’d like them. They weren’t, like, spandex, booty shorts. Just regular denim shorts, not even that short. But it wasn’t because I wanted him to think about me like that. It was because I know he likes how I look, and I personally believe that it’s ok to be flirty in how you dress as long as it’s not immodest (sexual, trashy, provocative, whatever floats your goat)

There’s another side to this though, because if you’re dating someone, you want them to be physically attracted to you. I’m sure boys try not to think about girls in a sexual way all the time (well some of them at least… the one’s worth dating) but that’s just not how the world works. And you can’t blame them, girls have those thoughts too. God made men and women attracted to one another, and not just our brains.

So, summary: Modesty; good. Temptation; bad. It’s ok to wear clothes that make you feel good about yourself. It’s not ok when you wear clothes just to look hot, or sexy, or whatever.

Swimsuits! NOT an excuse to wear the minimal amount of clothing and say it’s ok because it’s a swimsuit. Honestly, some things are for your husbands eyes only. Bikinis = bad. They were invented, not for comfort, but to show as much skin as possible.

Um… yeah I think I made my point. Comment opinions please 😀
